We are a church who are passionate about Jesus. We welcome people from all nationalities and all age groups. Our History.

Plant it.
New Generation City Church was planted in Melbourne 2002 by Tom and Sandra Sumner, with the support of a small team of fellow pioneers. Initially they met at a school in Clifton Hill, however, in 2004 the church moved to Melbourne’s western suburbs and has been based in Wyndham ever since.

Build it.
God has faithfully added people from all walks of life into our New Gen family. In 2012, the Lead Pastoral role was handed from Tom and Sandra Sumner to Russ and Gen Kay-Hards.

Grow it.
Over the years, the church has changed venues to meet its growing needs. In 2021 we were very excited to acquire our own permanent space upstairs in the Woodville shopping centre that we’ve called THE HUB. This venue is our community Hub for various meetings throughout the week. We proudly run our café ‘Solid Ground Coffee’ downstairs which operates weekdays from 8am until 2pm.

Our Leadership Team.
In our efforts to follow the New Testament pattern, New Gen City Church is governed by a team of ordained elders (pastors). The elders are supported in their ministry by teams of leaders in various ministries and we encourage all members to be involved in ministry as part of the priesthood of all believers. New Gen City Church works closely in partnership with an apostolic/prophetic team called New Covenant Ministries International (NCMI). NCMI is a global team working to support and strengthen churches around the world in more than 100 nations.
